SoftBank develops eSIM Platform to promote IoT solutions

Japanese telecoms and internet corporation SoftBank, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group Corp., announced that it is developing an Embedded Subscriber Identity Module ("eSIM") Platform as part of its efforts to promote Internet of Things ("IoT") solutions. The platform, which is scheduled to start operating in 2017, enables remote eSIM provisioning by connecting to carrier communication networks with the required profiles.

ZTE Signs Cooperation Agreement with Intel for IoT Innovation

ZTE Corporation a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for mobile internet, and Intel, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement at an IoT forum in Barcelona, Spain. Both parties will jointly establish an innovative lab for research and development of future key IoT technologies, including experimental verification, evaluation, and research and development of related technologies, thereby providing integrated market-oriented IoT solutions.

French start-up agrees deal with Iranian internet provider to deploy IoT services

A French start-up company has agreed a deal with a leading Iranian network provider as they announced plans to roll-out IoT services across the country. Some of the services that will be made available to residents in Iran; include the introduction of Intelligent Transportation and gas meters you can monitor from your smartphone.
