Trump called investment in cutting-edge industries a “necessity” and said he will work with lawmakers to deliver new and important infrastructure investment. The AI initiative aims to undertake a better reporting and tracking of spending on AI research and development.

“AI is something that touches every aspect of people’s lives,” a senior administration official said. “What this initiative attempts to do is to bring all those together under one umbrella and show the promise of this technology for the American people”.

US President is set to sign an executive order asking federal government agencies to prioritize Artificial Intelligence and promote R&D and training in order to make sure the US keeps its research and development advantage in AI and related areas, such as advanced manufacturing and quantum computing.
