Network solution providers collaborate to accelerate IoT deployment in Germany

A consortium of German network solutions providers has combined their expertise and capabilities in a bid to accelerate the deployment of IoT network rollouts across Germany. Telent, which is an organization that specializes in networks systems for critical infrastructure has formally announced that it aims to accelerate the deployment of LoRaWAN and enterprise IoT solutions for smart city, transport, energy and Industry 4.0 sectors all over the country.

Telnet will be able to initiate this deployment strategy through its subsidiary Netzikon. Its core customer base consists of public authorities and companies in the rail and transport, energy and IT and telecommunications sector. The solutions provider supports those firms in the design, planning, installation, integration, operation and maintenance and additional services.

Telnet's subsidiary, Netzikon was formed in 2016 as a national LoRaWAN network operator that will use connectivity management, network roaming and localization in order to deliver digital services across the region. The third component of this complex and innovative collaboration of entities is Arkessa which is a highly-reputable managed services provider in Germany.

Arkessa CEO, Andrew Orrock said that the partnership created between the three organizations would subsequently result in the acceleration in the deployment of IoT services on a global scale. Orrock said, "The partnership between Netzikon, Telent and Arkessa, all members of the LoRa Alliance, demonstrates a commitment to simplifying and future-proofing enterprise IoT. Together we are helping global organizations to deploy IoT solutions faster and more efficiently."

It has emerged that the LoRa Alliance is a both an open, and non-profit association of members which was initiated by industry leaders that shared a vision and ambition to standardize low power wide area networks (LPWAN) being deployed around the world to enable smart city, IoT, M2M and industrial applications.

In addition to this, it has been disclosed that Arkessa provides a range of managed services, which includes the aggregation of global mobile networks and technologies, cellular 2G, 3G, 4G and LPWA into a single service management platform. This subsequently enables IoT devices to connect out-of-the-box and operate anywhere.
